Our Story
Sunaayy Foundation began with a simple belief: every child deserves an education, and every woman deserves the opportunity to shape her own future. Founded in 2009 with just a handful of children learning under a tree, it has since grown into a movement that transforms lives through education, nourishment, and skill-building. Over the years, our family grew, with people from across the world joining us and helping Sunaayy take shape.
We empower women to gain financial independence and provide children aged 3 to 17 with the foundational skills needed to access mainstream education. With a vision of a more inclusive and sustainable future, Sunaayy is building both a local and global network of volunteers committed to bridging educational gaps, fostering self- reliance, and driving lasting impact.

More Than Academics

Creating Changemakers

A Grassroots Model for Change
Sunaayy Foundation’s success is rooted in its community-driven approach. By working closely with local communities and empowering women as educators, we create sustainable programs that uplift both children and families. Our women-led teaching approach fosters confidence, self-reliance, and a sense of purpose—ensuring that change starts from within.
Education at the Core
At Sunaayy, education is the foundation of transformation—for both women and children. We believe that empowering women with knowledge and skills creates a ripple effect, uplifting entire families and communities. Our programs have reached over 15,000 children across 12 active centers and have uplifted 100+ women, breaking barriers to learning and opportunity.
At Sunaayy, education is holistic—it’s about more than just reading and writing. We teach women and children to understand the world around them, including sustainability, financial independence, and critical thinking. We want to equip them not just for today, but for life.
More Than Academics: We teach women and children real-world skills—how to care for their environment, how to communicate confidently, and how to dream beyond their immediate circumstances.
Rooted in Basics, Aimed at the Future: For children in places like Bihar and Jharkhand, learning isn’t just about exams—it’s about survival. We ensure education is relevant, meaningful, and transformative.
Creating Changemakers: Education isn’t just about individual success—it’s about uplifting entire communities. The women we empower and the children we teach today will be the ones solving tomorrow’s challenges.

Health & Nourishment: Fueling Learning
A well-fed child is ready to learn, thrive, and build a better future. For millions in underserved communities, the challenge isn’t just accessing education—it’s having the energy to learn.
While our primary focus is education, we recognize that proper nourishment plays a crucial role in a child’s ability to learn. Through our partnership with Food for the Hungry, we provide healthy snacks and meals to support the children. Additionally, community volunteers often step in to offer food, ensuring that children receive nourishment. Through this partnership, we’ve provided over 3 million meals to date. Our teachers ensure that children receive meals even on week days when school is closed, especially those left alone while their parents work.
